Why DIY’ing your website is a bad idea?

Hey Ashley here, and today I want to talk about what can happen if you DIY your website for you Home Professional Business.

First off DIY’ing your website can be a bad idea because it often results in an amateur-looking website with limited functionality and features. Even if you do get it to “looking” good, it still may also be difficult to troubleshoot any technical issues that arise.

Additionally, when you DIY, you may not be aware of the latest web design trends and best practices, which may make your website look outdated or not run as quick as it should.

Lastly and I feel most important, a DIY website can take a lot of valuable time and energy that could be better spent elsewhere. I am not saying you can’t do it on your own and maybe that’s what you have to do to start out, but I am here to help businesses like yours, create an amazing site where you can spend your time doing what is most important, running your business.

We only have so many hours in the day and on top of running a successful home pro business, and possibly being a mom or having a life outside your business, it can get to be too much. Would you prefer to save “a little money” and miss your family game night or miss going to that show because you are trying to DIY?

Saving time also means that because I am an expert I can get your site up and going WAY faster than for you to DIY it. Sometime we have to learn to invest in things. I know it is scary, but I am here to help each step of the way!!

In the end it’s usually best to entrust your website to an experienced web designer or development team like Ashley K Mills Creative Co. to ensure the best quality and experience for your users.

Let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to chatting!

Ashley

Thank you for the guidance. It is so hard to get out of the gate in a professional organizing business when you think about all of the cost that might add up to get the basics in place. I’ve been DIY and get myself just using templates. I started handing headaches within the site over to professionals. It has helped.

No problem, that’s my goal is to really help Home Organizers with brand, web and Pinterest. I think sometimes we are scared to outsource, but in the end we do end up with less of a headache for sure 😉
